Collected the biomedical magazine that features my interview from She yah yesterdae at SP. Was quite impressed by the layout and well i felt honoured to be interviewed. Haha Anywayz Ch and I went for a tour around the new CLS building, visited the new labs and we saw Fraser. But Mr Fraser cant really recognise us cos he looked very blur when we called him. Was quite awkward cos we had nothing to say to him and he was also busy talking to his FYP students so we made a move first.

Later we went up to level 5 and visited Ms Soh and also B yang cos the both of them happen to be in the same office room. Chatted a little with both of them and well its a nice feeling to be able to chat with the lecturers again. Ms Soh's office happens to overlook the outdoor foyer so the sunlight kinda makes the room more cosy. Anyway B yang was very surprised when we went in and he kept claiming that i changed a lot... to the extent that he cant even recognise me now. It makes me feel as if i had undergone a extreme makeover. Haha Anyway was informed that the cytology course already started and i was very surprised to find out that Mdm Phang aka my ex dept head also enrolled into the course. I thought she is supposed to be the part time lecturer? Admired her courage to study part time cos i believe with her years of experience, she is even more qualified than any other people to teach the course... but turns out that she is now the student. Funny... Anyway it's such a coincidence that law and her are in the same class too. I pity Mdm Phang actually cos it must be a torture to be with him in the same class, what's more i think he is going to give mdm phang that "i dont want to talk to you and u get out of my sight!" attitude again. Lets pray that they wouldnt be placed in the same group or else hell will break loose. I cant imagine that tension spilling over... OMG! Anywayz think its retribution too.. In this small field, its always better to have a friend than an enemy and moreover mdm phang is a nice lady so i have no idea why he hated her so much. Anywayz I already told him let bygones be bygones but he chose not to head my advice so well this type of thing happens to him again. B yang also said that they are worlds apart.. its hard to be enermy rite.

Anyway since i already left cyto lab, i should wash my hands off them. It's not going to be my problem anymore. Looks like the magazine is also outdated cos the interview is held when i am still working in cytology and all the lecturers also thought that i am working in cytology. But i am glad that i left the place for somewhere with better prospects. I cant stand working with the microscopes for all day long, screening tens and tens of pap smear slides. But if i were to stay, perhaps i would have gone to study part time and sit for the cytotechnologist exams. Anyway B yang asked me whether have i considered rejoining the medical field after my teaching bond. Well just like what Ms Soh replied. Once u step into teaching, thats going to be for life. Why waste ur time in teaching and start afresh with the med tech job again..

Was thinking of visiting Mr Sng and Mr Woo later but we bumped into them along the corridoor. Same thing as well both of them esp Mr Woo gave us this very blur look, its only after a while then Mr Sng recognise us. Haha Chatted a little and Mr Sng remarked that being a teacher is always better than being a med tech cos its a iron rice bowl. Well its still a long way for me to discover my real interest...

Went to the Henderson Senior Citizen Home today to submit our proposal to the person in charge, Catherine for our GESL project. It's a relief that everything is settled after having encountered so many setbacks and i gotta thank my sis for helping us to "pull string" as her group went there to do their project early this year.

Catherine brought us around to view the home and it's actually heartening to see the elderly being housed in such a safe and cosy environment. Think its better for them to go for the day care programme than staying alone at home with no one to talk to. When Noryani and i reached the home, the residents were already in the midst of their karaoke and majong session and they were enjoying themselves very much. Frankly speaking, the atmosphere in this home is much more liveier that the one i previously been to. It happens that the chairperson for the home is also there so we manage to tell her all the activities we planned and it's so nice of her to allow us to carry out all the proposal. I mean for someone of her status who spoke crisp Britain Queen's English, we felt very honoured to be able to share with her our views and she even chatted with us on the subjects that we are going to teach. Anyway i am looking forward for the day to come:)

Went to the National Library yesterday to research on the social studies stuff with a friend of mine whose name is coincidentally Melvin. So we are known as M1 and M2 in class. Well Its my first time stepping into the national library cos i used to find it too huge and intimidating. But it also happens to be the only place that we can find all the relevant materials and at least there's someone to accompany me. Anyway, headed to Lee Kong Chian Reference Library located on level 11 and it's really a eye opener for me. Very quiet, very organised, very clean and the view is superb too, you can even see the "ferris wheel", suntec and esplanade from the self studying area. Spent a couple of hours there browsing the books and copying down all the relevant infor cos all the books are not for loan. Anyway went to Bugis junction afterthat to shop for mooncakes for my family and also books from Kino (Kino is having this 20% discount for members). Manage to get two books of which one of them is the book on broken english. Besides being useful for teaching, it's also quite interesting to understand the mistakes that we often made.

Tried my hand on fixing a wooden windmill model today but i failed miserably. In case you guys dont know what am i talking about, recently there are a couples of push carts selling those wooden models that you got to DIY. Anyway, think it's either that i dont have enough patience or i am too rough cos i literally broke one of the pieces. Very demoralising indeed. Just imagine you spend the entire afternoon trying to fix that model and one of the most important pieces broke into two... I ended up throwing the model away cos the broken piece stuck out like a sore thumb and i can be quite a perfectionist. Luckily the model only costed me $4.o0 so i dont really feel the pinch. Haha

Been cramming my brain for ideas on classroom management and social studies lately. Well now i gotta admit that teaching is not an easy job afterall. Just imagine having to plan the lesson for the entire night but the students didnt even appreciate it.

Anyway sat for my first mock test on grammer this morning and its hell. The questions may look easy but its packed with loads of tricky questions. Luckily, its only a mock test.. Cant imagine if today's results is going to be my mid term test results...

Another major social studies assignment due on 29 october which is only less than 2 months away.. Stress Stress* And we gotta think of at least 5 to 8 types of activities of three different topics to make social studies lesson more interesting. To make things worst, we got to write a 1800 words literature review, 2000 words summary on the topic, 1000 words individual reflection followed by presentation on that topic. Oh man! Kids nowadays are so fortunate to have games and activities as part of their lesson. I still remember my social studies teacher reading by the text book. So got to soak myself in all the memoirs and biographies again. Anyway my mum thinks that i am going crazy soon cos i kept singing this merger with malaysia song and watching all the old video clips of the politicians. haha

Oh ya and also think i met Mr Soh Kah Heng at NIE today. Cant confirm its him but the fella resembles him a lot. Too bad i didnt dare to approach that guy to confirm his identity. So other than aloysious foo, even mr soh is there.

School just reopened after the e learning week and i am down with a bad flu which congested my entire respiratory tract. Oh What a bad start indeed... Anyway as mentioned, last week is e learning week but i dont enjoyed it at all because it seems that e learning week is busier than normal school week, all thanks to the loads of assignment.

Well we have just finished our chemistry modules for Science so we are going to have physics for the next 8 weeks. Frankly speaking, i hated physics cos physics often paired with maths and Maths is my most hated subject of all. Anyway had our first physics lecture and think i am going to be in deep trouble cos i dont understand the entire lecture at all. Everything is so "ceem". Dont think i have studied that before. But later then i found out that the entire class dont even understand what the professor is talking about. Haha Luckily we got a very kind tutor who is willing to go over the lecture with us again. Thank God.. Now then i understand why people kept complaining that most of the professors cant teach cos they are only good in research.

I had a weird dream last night. I know its silly to ponder over a dream but it seems so true. And the ironic thing is i can still remember the images very well and its actually upsets me a little. Thought i have already gone over it but why are all these stuffs haunting me again..

Well the dream somehow brought me to the future. Everyone's faces matured so much and i actually find myself married and i am already a full time teacher. Was shopping with this "partner" beside me ( i cant see his face) and i met him. He looked so much older and so uncle. It seems like he is standing outside a shop waiting for someone. Anyway we met each other's glances and after a few silent seconds, he actually said hello and asked how am i and how is everything. And the most funny thing is that i actually replied him that i am doing very well and i even introduced the man beside me as my husband. Oh man.. Anyway there was this awkward moment afterthat and as i am about to leave. A child came running to him, calling him papa and dragging him into the store. So he went ahead to introduce the child as his son and even got the child to call me auntie. But at that moment, a man came dashing towards us and i fell to the ground. This is also the time that i was jerked up from sleep.

Is this going to happen to me in future.. I have no idea but sometimes i do find myself in places that i had actually dreamt of.

Well Its finally E learning week so i can get to rest a little at home but there are still lots of assignments piling up.. Anyway went to the newly renovated National Museum for our social studies field trip last friday. The building looks so grand and magnificant and its really high tech compared to last time when we visited during our primary school days. Nowadays, there are no guides around instead u will get a digital companion that will explain to u when u key in the number code next to the exhibit thus bringing u a sensory and visionary experience. But frankly speaking, i find the exhibits for the Japanese Occupation very errie cos the interior is dimly lit and all the walls are painted in black, furthermore there is this very sad music playing in the background. OMG...Hair raising experience...

Anyway went to watch 881 with my family afterwards and well its quite a nice show but not one that i would strongly recommend cos in my opinion, since the movie is about the culture of Singapore, might as well make it more cultural instead of adding all the laser stuffs and computer effects. I mean its lame and this type of things will not happen in real life. But on the other hand, if all these laser stuffs are not added in the first place, all the aunties and uncles wouldnt find it interesting anymore. So its just my personal preference...
