Well its the 30th day of December and that means there is only 1 more day left to 2007! Think its time to take a look back at 2006. Well 2006 is a very interesting year, interesting in the sense that many things happened to me, some of which is my first time encountering it.

2006 is the year that :

However looking back at 2006 very much serious thoughts again, its is rather filled with ups and downs, ups in the sense that i got my grades as wat i expected and i got a job at my dream hospital, downs in the sense that i couldnt find a job for a period of time and there was a period of bad times that occured to one of my buddies but that incident really got us closer together and it also taught me that best friends and family are the most important people cos they will always stand by you in difficult times. BGR doesn't really matter much to me and it also somehow got me interwined in a awkward position now. Anyway i am going to take the bad times as a life learning lesson.

Since the newspaper, tv and people around me been talking about new year resolution. I shall list my new year resolutions:

1) I shall lose more weight;
2) I shall concentrate on my work so that i can save more money for my further studies;
3) May all my family and friends be healthy and happy always

Lastly, i shall wish you guys a very Happy New Year and may bundle of joys and happiness accompany you through the new year!

Well, first of all, i got to wish you guys a very wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Time passes by really quickly, i still remember last year's christmas was spent in Penang but i got to spend this year's in Singapore. Anyway it can be quite fun in the sense that it is my first time spending christmas at my workplace with the doctors, dept head and my fellow colleagues distributing gifts and chocs of which I also bought them a little christmas present each too.

Recieved a packet of organics apricot wrapped in yogurt from my dept senior consultant pathologist, a bottle of perfume from my dept head, a little jumboo elephant plush toy from my colleague, Lina, a necklace from my uncle and finally a wallet from my aunt. Well it looks like its my first time getting so many christmas presents too. Haha

Anyway christmas eve was spent at my ah mah's place with ah mah cooking up a storm eventhough we intially agreed to potluck dinner. So really got to thank ah mah for her effort, we are just too lazy for potluck. Haha Had our little gift exchange session after dinner but its just a pity that my cousins didnt stay overnight at my grandma's place if not perhaps we catch up a bit with one another. After all, its a enjoyable nite and i hope u pple also had a wonderul christmas night with ur loved ones.

Hi didn’t manage to blog for a while cos I ‘ve been very busy for the past few weeks. Anyway just finished reading the book, Unhurried thoughts at my funeral by Catherine Lim of which some of the inspirational values hidden beneath the paragraphs got me thinking quite a bit. However there was this particular paragraph about the differences between men and women which I find it rather interesting.

Below is an excerpt of the paragraph: “The scientists mostly agreed that the difference lies, oddly in a similiarity of sexual psychological apparatus to serve that purpose. So although both males and females are biologically driven by the primary goal of reproducing offspring that will in turn produce offsprings that will in turn produce offsprings that will in turn produce offsprings in never ending compliance with the imperative of ‘Go forth and multiply’, they are differently predisposed in the achievement of the goal. The male strategy lies in his millions of sperms which can be dispensed freely while the female strategy lies in her one ready egg which has to be closely guarded. Hence it is in the male interest to be rampant and promiscuous, and in the female interest to be cautious and calculating. The male is happy to have any willing female, but the female wants to find the healthiest, most promising male to help her in the demanding job of child rearing. It is quantity for the male and quality for the female.

In my opinion, i rather agreed to her point of view. So how about you? Haha

Air Supply - Without You

Went for my dept year end party at the Hilton hotel last sat. Compared to other hospitals whose year end party is normally held in the staff lounge, think my dept is quite generous to hold the party in such a luxurious hotel. Had a mad rush for cosmetics on friday night cos its afterall my first time attending such a function and i also dont wish to lose out to other people in terms of dressing and stuffs like that.

Anyway, the party was quite fun cos there were performances by doctors and staffs and many of the sporty ones came dressed as cow boys and girls cos the theme for the party is cow boys and girls. Its amusing to see the usually dull faced doctors to come in colourful checked shirts and boots complete with cow boy hats and scarfs.

Most importantly, its my first time putting on make up and i actually realise that some make up does make one look nicer and more attractive but think i went a little abroad for my top cos its a little bit too revealing. Anyway, its great to see that my colleagues got a little surprised by my appearence and my dept head couldnt even recognise me for a while. Haha

Its was a buffet lunch but the food finished rather quickly in half an hour time. Furthermore they dont replenish the food anymore so there werent much food left for the latecomers. So early birds catch the worms! Sat on a table together with the other dept people which made my dept head rather unhappy about. However, we cant be blamed cos we tried to reserve some seats for our dept colleagues but the seats were snapped up rather quickly as seats were not pre allocated to different individual dept. Think their motive is to allow people from different dept to mingle around.

At the lucky draw, i won a 20 bucks shoppping voucher from Robinsons. Actually it wasnt expected cos i dont feel lucky at all. Haha Anyway think its a good start for my career bah.

This year's birthday shall be one of my most memorable birthdays cos its my first time taking leave from work to celebrate this special day and furthermore my birthday celebration kinda started from friday. Haha First of all, i got to thank all of the people around me for making my birthday such a pleasant one. Although there is no lavish celebration or surprises, to me a simple celebration at home with my family members and friends is already very sweet.

In additional, its so sweet of my lab colleagues to buy me a cake and a bear on friday and they even sang me a birthday song. Initially i just wanted to cut the cake up and share it among us but my dept head insisted that they sang me a song so i obliged. Anyway it was quite awkward cos the birthday song sounded really well at the start but towards the middle the voice became softer and eventually all stopped singing in the end. However i cant blame them cos there is some bad blood between the people in my lab. After all its still a sweet and memorable one.

Met up with yc and ch on sat for k singing. Its been a long long time since we met each other esp yc whom seem to disappear from the world ever since she started working. Its nice to see each other again and yc slimmed down a lot. Its to the extend that ch and i cant recognise her eventhough she is standing in front of us. Haha Anyway its good motivation to me! Heehee Anyway we sang from 2pm to 7pm followed by some shopping and dinner and finally ice cream supper at ps. And I am looking forward to yc's 21st birthday celebration!

As for yesterday, had a mini party at granny's house cos my uncle bought us crabs and grandma whipped up a table of delicacies and all are my favourites. Haha my cousin was even joking that she came especially for the food eventhough she is going to have her exams on tuesday.

Well today shall be reserved for my family members. Going to orchard with my mum later to shop for some clothings for the upcoming dept party on sat. And my aunt is going to buy me a cake from baker's inn. Haha Wondering which flavour to buy. Tiramisu may be quite nice. Heehee
