Woohoo Its a fabulous weekend! Went to Malaysia yesterdae for a one day tour with my colleagues and my mother. The tour was actually organised by my mum's company but i eventually managed to gather two of my colleagues and their family members to go along so that we can form a table of 10.
The day started very early cos we are supposed to reach braddell pick up point by 7.30am so we met my colleague, Law at the boon lay mrt station at 6am in the morning and we took a train there. Its fun to see the expression on my mum's face when she first saw my colleague cos he is wearing a cap with slippers and a sling bag which somehow make him looks like a factory worker heading to work. Think first impression is kind of important bah. Anyway we are the second batch of people to reach braddell which i think we are too kiasu. Was kinda irritated cos the bus only arrived at 8am.
After clearing the customs, we had breakfast in a small town somewhere near kota tingi. Ordered dried kway teow while Law ordered fried carrot cake. Although these are simple dishes, the taste is quite fantastic and more importantly, its cheap too. Haha
After breakfast, we were brought to a small store selling all sorts of local produces which i find it a bit boring cos its kinda direct marketing. Anyway we ended up buying some biscuits and tibits.
Following that we then travelled for 1 and 1/2 hours to Perangani for lobster lunch and also the ostrich farm. Due to the heavy breakfast, most of us were slowly falling asleep eventhough the tour guide is introducing to us some places of interest to us.
Lunch was at the Lucky restaurant. It may sound quite posh but actually its a eating place with zinc roof top and while we are eating, there was a sudden heavy downpour. The experience of eating under the leaking zinc roof is quite fun but my poor colleague's rice was tainted by the dripping rainwater. Haha
Luckily the rain eventually stopped and we proceeded to the ostrich farm. I was super excited cos i didnt see an ostrich before but i was kinda put off by the smell of ostrich's dung once we stepped into the farm. Took a couple of photos of the ostrich but i didnt dare to go near them cos i am afraid that they will peck my head. Haha Anyway Law was brave enough to touch the ostrich's neck and he even tried to get the ostrich to look into the camera. LOL Another whooping discovery is that ostrich egg is actually equivalent to 24 eggs and the shell can even withstand the weight of a adult. However one of the most outrageous souvenirs that i saw was the ostrich egg shell bra and there is even different cup sizes too. Haha i doubt there will be anyone who wants to wear it.
Went to the fruit farm afterthat, there was nothing much cos most of the fruits were not in season yet but i still manage to see jumbo, passion fruit, sukun, lukoo, honey oranges, papaya and banana trees. Its quite a interesting tour cos "Mr pineapple" was by my side so he kinda explained and translated some of the malay fruit names to me and i just learnt that mango tree leaves will have a distinctive mango smell if u were to rub it hard enough.
Proceeded for our dinner after the fruit farm tour. Dinner was at this chinese restaurant of which the ambience kinda reminded me of a chinese wedding dinner. Took a group photo which i think looks like a wedding dinner photo with the couple and their relatives standing behind the guests. Haha awkward issn't.
Highlight of the day was after our dinner and its the viewing of fireflies. However our schedule was pushed back all the way to the 8.45pm slot instead of the earlier 6.30pm slot. So while waiting, we manage to chat up a little while the kids had a great time playing along the jetty. When it was our turn, we are required to put on this luminous orange life jacket and we boarded the boat to the mangrove swamp. Actually the thing that caught my interest most is not the fireflies but the stars blanketing the sky. It is such a serene and beautiful scene of which i think its quite romantic too. Haha but its a pity that i cant take a picture cos the surrounding is too dark...
Anyway we reached Singapore at around 11.30pm so we shared a cab home with my colleague.
Although we are dead tired, i guess this shall be my unforgettable and fruitful trip.

Been observing the people around me and its quite interesting to see their contrasting characters. Human relations are always complicated especially since its is closely linked to communication. A broken communication may lead to a misunderstanding and a misunderstanding is all it takes to shatter a good relationship.
In case u guys are wondering why i suddenly took such a great interest in human relations, it is just that i had witnessed a case of misunderstanding and the relationship between the two persons has worsened dramatically.
In my point of view, it is better to let go and forget everthing cos the hard willed nature is capable of ruining a person's career prospect. Anyway isnt it better to have another friend than an enemy? Mutual respect is important esp in workplace cos if u are not giving people respect, how do u expect people to respect u? Anyway i am in no position to voice out my feelings as a observing party thus i find it better to reserve everything in my heart.
But i can say its a misunderstanding cos she isnt that bad afterall. Besides some badmouthing, there are praises too. So if one party is willing to give in, i am sure that the situation will definetely improve of which i think its near impossibility.
Anyway its complicated and i dont wish to get involve in all these things.

Time flies and today marks the end of my 3 mths probation but i havent gotten the confirmation letter yet cos my dept head is still on holiday. I can say these 3 months of life in the lab are quite interesting and fulfilling. After having exposed to the society for 3 months, it has made me grow up remarkably, in other words more matured bah. It took me just a few months to know that actually working life is much more complicated and stressful than studying. Life as a student is forever the best. Meanwhile it seems that life is getting more complicated too. I was interwined into something which wasnt expected and sometimes it can be quite hard to grab of people's thinking.
During a conversation with someone today, i was asked whether is it good for him to give up everything and go overseas perhaps somewhere in europe to pluck apples and jus lead a simple farming life because his friend also did the same thing due to a very bad break up. i had no comments for that question cos to me it seems to be too dramatic to give up everything and move urself overseas just because of a girl. Like the chinese saying, why give up the entire forest for just a tree. However, i find myself in no position to make any comments cos firstly i had no experience in BGR before and i am quite a serious person so i guess one day when i am really involved in such relationship, i may find it hard to let go too. Anyway relationship thingy are very complicated cos for people of our age, relationship isnt puppy love anymore. Its another stage of life and perhaps something that may hurts.
Like the saying again, fate bring us together. On one hand, i believe everything is fated but on the other hand, i also believe that fate is in our hands. We should have a control over our life...

Its a hard day of work cos firstly we werent adapting well to the new arrangement and furthermore we are still newbies.
There were lots of samples in the morning but coming to afternoon there werent any samples at all, only come to evening that the samples started to come in in batches. Lunch time is only a mere 25 mins(enough time for us to polish off our plate of rice)...
Anyway todae is a mentally and physically exhasting day....
