Hasnt been working for the past four days cos i got to attend the orientation programme and another course on quality control and service with heart.

Orientation was quite boring cos the speakers kept drilling the SGH 5Cs and core values into our minds. Almost all the speakers kept stressing on the importance of our vision and mission and the 185 years of history of the hospital. We even were told that we can only throughly understand the core values of the hospital provided that we can relate the vision and mission and the core values to ourselves. Last of all, we were also briefed on our dress code and how we should behave ourselves so not to tarnish the image and reputation of our hospital. Anyway, i am quite fortunate to have the accompany of my colleague cos i saw people going alone with no one to talk to. However i manage to have some small talks with a nurse clinician, a physiologist, and a staff nurse. They are very interesting people and during tea breaks, they even shared with me their nursing experiences and how they clean and pack up the body after one pass away.

At the same time, they were amazed that my colleague and i were working near the montuary cos they have heared all the creepy stories about the lift and the tunnel of which we got to try and clarify to them things that dont seems to exist at all.

The service heart and quality mind course was much more interesting than the orientation cos the course requires interaction between the team mates and we had quite a fun time presenting the assignments. Throughout the two days course, i get to see some very interesting people of which one is a joker male nurse(he will always lift up the spirits of the class), a self proclaimed rocker nurse( she always talk with the rocker attitude) and a very lohsoh patient care assistant( she can talk for non stop during her presentation which somehow makes people feel like she is a facilator so as a result everyone started to go to the toilet whenever its her turn to present) However its all thanks to these people that makes the course more interesting and i am sure they will bring lots of laughter to the patients and their respective wards.

Afterall, i have learnt quite a fair bit of things from the orientation and its really makes me feel part of SGH.

Hi i am back!

Got disconnected from the rest of the world cos my laptop was infected with virus. Anyway thanks to kit mun for helping me to fix my pc and also my colleague for offering some advice.

Anyway last week was filled with ups and downs. Downs because my laptop was infected by the Trojan virus which somehow to a self confessed IT idiot like me, it was quite a great blow. On the other hand, ups because last week was a long weekend and i invited my colleagues over to my house for a cheese cake baking session. Had lots of fun but we didnt manage to have the first hand taste of the cake cos we got to refridgerate the cake overnite. Brought the cake to the lab next day and luckily the cake turns out well.

Saw soo chan on my way home last wednesday. Its was a surprise to see her outside my dept and its nice to see her again. However we didnt manage to catch up much cos i am hurrying home and she is going to attend her lecture....

Watched the movie "deep sea" yesterdae at the ommi theatre. Well its a new experience cos its my first time watching a IMAX movie. Initially I was "wowed" by the 5 storey high dome shaped screen and feeling so excited at the thought of the screen and moveable chairs as described by my colleague but its turns out that the chair didnt move at all.

Anyway the documentary was narrated by Johnny depp so its was quite amusing to hear Johnny depp in such a serious tone. The movie was ok but it wasnt a really pleasant experience cos the screen was too huge a visual experience for me and i end up having a headache afterwards.

Anyway think i only enjoyed myself most in the shop located in science centre cos the things there were so special and there is even this mood ring which will switch colour as ur mood swings. But didnt buy it cos its 6.50 for a ring which is quite expensive...

Watched World Trade Centre with my group of colleagues yesterday after work but its kinda disappointing cos initially 7 people were able to make it but all of them kinda backed out at the very last minute leaving the 5 of us to watch the show.

Had a quick dinner at Yoshi and we had a great deal of time laughing away cos one of the colleagues ordered the bento set which turns out to be so small a portion to fill his stomach. Anyway we ended up buying porcorns and nachos for the movie which i guess helped a little in filling his stomach. haha
Movie was quite boring cos its based on true story of which i nearly fall asleep and my colleague was seen stuffing his face of porcorns and nachos to keep his awake. Anyway we still had a great time together since its the first time watching movie in the new Cathay cineplex for the 3 of them and the ambience of the grand cathay hall is great and relaxing.

Reached home at 10.30 but for goodness sake i drifted in and out of sleep throughout the whole night which resulted in my black circles todae. Anyway all of us looked very tired and we dont really have the energy to work cos of lack of sleep. Think that teaches us not to go for an outing on weekdays esp Monday cos there will always be monday blues. How i wish yesterdae is fri. Haha

Been feeling very tired and vexed recently cos i wasnt sleeping well for the past few days. Most probably its due to working stress.

Sometimes i just felt like throwing in the towel because of this emptiness inside me. I may appear chirpy when i work but whenever i am alone, this sense of emptiness just starts to set in. It looks like everyone around me are persuading me not to go overseas for studies because firstly thats going to cost me a bomb and secondly i am going to miss the chance of becoming a certified cytoscreener. And i must say all these comments are somehow making me lost, at this particular moment i just find the path in front me of getting more and more blurry.

Admit that i am a very serious person and i dont really takes jokes easily. However there are some people out there making fun of me. It may seems to be enjoyable for that person, but its hurting me.

Anyway there is this song that often raced through my mind, this is the beginning of the lyrics which i think it kinda reflects on me:

I have a dream, a song to sing.
To get me through reality.

Yes i have a dream but a dream that seems to drift further and further away from me....
