Oh well this is my first blog of the year 2006. Been very busy for the past few days.. so looks like i got lots to catch up with. Well last week was a very very hectic week (we didn't even have time to eat a proper meal for lunch)cos we got to hand in our FYP report by fri. Yeah anyway we finally handed in our final year project report after months and months of hardwork and solid researches..Phew its really a huge load off my shoulders.. Yes! finally i can get a good nite sleep without thinking of the report. But we shouldn't be too happy for the time being cos next we got to prepare for our FYP presentation. Hmmm looks like there's going to be a 2nd round of challenge!

Last friday, Mr yeo shocked us by wanting us to present our medical microbiology powerpoint slides and that really caught us completely offguard! At first i was quite worried cos ive no idea of what i did (did that presentation slides days before i went for my vacation)and i didnt prepare.. Okie i kinda accept the fact that im going to make a shame of myself but luckily our group wasn't choosen for the presentation.. next week shall be our turn. At least we got some time to prepare. Really pitied those groups that were asked to present.. Anyway during the presentation, he shared with us some of his experiences with the student's FYP presentation that i find it to be quite amusing. For example.. if one of the lecturers ask u whether u got anything to add on besides what ur group members have mentioned. Just make sure something comes out of ur mouth even if u dont knoe what to say by saying "i support what xxxxx has said". Next towards the end of the presentation, when u r again being the same qns. just say "thank you for your attention".

Well the above is just for laughter.. i don think anyone is that brave to mention these things during ur presentation unless u r prepared to stay for another sem. He also mentioned some points that we got to take note of .. First when u greet the audiences don ever say "gd morning judges" Unless u r in for Singapore Idol. Second, don drag ur presentation as people will get bored and he claimed that all lecturers are rather kay poh.. when they r bored, they will start to gossip about ur dress code. Third is the one that i find it most amusing. All group members should look as if u all r very united and happy with ur presentation even if u all have become enemies after the project. Haha.. Looks like the lecturers will also grade us on our "acting skills".. Alright enough of all the FYP craps...

Talking about new year resolution... I don believe in making new year resolutions cos i don ever accomplish any tasks. I just felt that if u want to do something, set ur heart on it and juz work hard! There's no point writing down all these things like what we say "talk no action".

Recieved a letter of invitation from NTU regarding the seminar on all the courses that polytechnic graduates can apply. I was kinda at loss again cos i have decided to go to Uk for my further studies.. Then now NTU is offering degree in education (science). The offer is really tempting!

Frankly speaking, i loves teaching and i don think im going to test bloods and urines for the rest of my life. I yearns freedon hence i don like the feeling of being trapped in a lab 8am to 5pm doing all the routine works. Well u can say that teaching is a routine work too but u get to work with the youngsters and every sem u will get to face new challenges. But comparing a local degree in education and a UK dgree in biomedical sciences, sure the latter sounded nicer. Besides that a biomedical science degree can get me further in my field. Perhaps working in a lab is juz a stepping stone to gain work experiences and who knows in the near future i may even get a chance to be a lecturer. Sure lecturer earns much more than a secondary sch bio teacher.

On the other hand, i may be forever stuck as a sec sch bio teacher if i got a local degree in education.. Of course, if i were to go to Uk, i got to learn to become independent and self disciplined. There wouldn't be any nagging from my mum and pipping hot dinner waiting for me. The thought of having to stay in a faraway land without any family warmth kinda scares me a little. As for NTU, its sooooo near to my home and i don have to worry about school fees and other things but its going to be 3 yrs and Uk is only 1 yr. Anyway, both have their pros and cons and i cant possibly get the best of both worlds. Perhaps i may need to attend the seminar to know more about the degree in education. Its still a bit early to decide..

P.S... is there any kind souls out there willing to accompany me? ..
