Alright this is an update regarding the UK degrees tat our lecturer discussed wif us yesterdae. Pretty upset to hear that our starting pay for diploma holders is only $1,200 to $1,300. If i were to work for a few years before i further my studies, don knoe when can i save enough with that pathetic pay. Besides that nowadays in the scientific field degree holders are considered norm. Perhaps in 5 to 10 years time, master is considered norm too and in 20 years time, every researchers may have to be PHD holders. Oh my goodness, that means i got to keep upgrading myself in order to survive in this industry. Hmmm.. actually not quite a bad idea though.. Been daydreaming myself as a PHD holder.. think by the time i will be a mad scientist spending most of my time in the lab and the best part is having others to address me as Dr Ng. wow.... But pls don imagine me as those mad scientist with the Ronald Macdonald's hairstyle and weird character. Guarantee i will be perfectly normal physically but i cant guarantee mentally. Haha.
Okie our lecturer actually advised us to go to UK as the uni there offers direct honours, on the other hand, australian universities only offered maximum 2 years advance standing. Hence you got to study for 2 yrs to obtain your honours degree and tat also means that we have to pay double. So instead of paying 30k plus for juz a general degree, might as well go for a direct honours cos the starting pay for degree holders is only $1,600-$1,700, whereas a honours degree holder's starting pay is $2,000- $2,200. Its a great jump in the salary and Im really attracted by the starting pay...
